Since I was a kid I saw my father doing the job of a police officer. At this age I was very confused about why people do this job and enjoy it. Who enjoy doing late night shift ? Don't see a lot their childrens ? See the bad side of society most of the time ? People judge everything they do and have a negative vision of them. After several years, I finally understood why my father did this. My father was right; there are good reasons to become a policeman, and I will show them to you.  

1. It's a non-routine job 

In this job you will never do the same thing day after day. One day you will make people angry by giving tickets and the day after you go on a violent gang member intervention. This job is intertaining but risky at the same time. It's not for everybody, the stress is present almost every day.     

2. Help people

This job is based on helping people. You are there to make people respect the law but your first duty is to always be available for the people in need. To make the difference in someone's life brings a lot of joy and gratufelness. Society is going to recognize the work you have done and thank you for it. Some people are going to like you, some are not. But that's just like in every job, right?

3. Make Money

In your starting year, the annual salary is of $ 50,000 normaly, and after 36 months of service, your annual salary will be gradually increased to approximatively $ 80,000. It's a lot of money ! With all that said, being a policeman sure makes you a good person. We may not always be your favorite, but life wouldn't be the same without us.
